Rapper and singer Badshah has reportedly received a death threat allegedly issued by members of the gang led by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi following the controversy surrounding his song Tateeree. The threat surfaced through a social media post that quickly went viral and raised serious concerns among fans and authorities.
Badshah receives a death threat
According to reports, the threatening message was shared on Facebook from an account named Randeep Malik Anil Pandit, which claimed to be linked to the Bishnoi gang. In the post, the individuals warned the rapper about alleged disrespect towards Haryana’s culture and issued a chilling warning directed at him.
In the message, the gang member reportedly wrote, “Singer Badshah, you tried to spoil the culture of Haryana.” The post also referred to an earlier incident and warned him that he had already been cautioned before. It added, “Earlier in 2024, we showed you a trailer at your club; this time we will shoot you directly in the forehead.”
The threatening post also claimed responsibility for a recent firing incident in Panipat. The individuals behind the message alleged that the attack was carried out at the office of two businessmen located on Assandh Road in the city. According to the post, the firing was meant as a warning related to alleged hawala activities linked to the establishment.
In the statement, the authors said the shooting was orchestrated by them and justified it by claiming the business was involved in illegal financial operations. The message further warned others allegedly engaged in hawala dealings to change their activities or face similar consequences.
All about the controversy
The threat against Badshah comes amid an ongoing controversy over his song Tateeree, which has drawn strong criticism from several groups in Haryana. Critics have objected to a line in the track that reads, “Aaya Badshah doli chadhaane, in sabki ghodi banaane,” claiming it portrays women from the state in an indecent and disrespectful manner.
The backlash escalated after complaints were filed against the rapper, and legal action followed. Authorities reportedly registered an FIR over the song’s lyrics and visuals, while police began investigating the issue.
Meanwhile, police are also examining the authenticity of the viral threat message and tracking those behind the post. Security agencies are reportedly on alert as the investigation continues.
