Renowned Kannada film actor Kichcha Sudeep visited Gaya, Bihar for the first time. He performed the Pind Daan ritual on Monday for his late mother. His mother had passed away a year ago, and the actor had been wishing to fulfil this sacred duty ever since. After performing the rituals, Sudeep visited the Vishnupad Temple and offered prayers.

The entire ceremony was conducted with proper Vedic rituals by the descendant priests of Rai Bahadur Gopal Lal Barik. The Pind Daan rituals lasted for around three hours. Acharya Vinod, who performed the ceremony, mentioned that the actor was quite emotional and even performed a special offering (Tarpan) in his mother’s name.
After performing the sacred rituals, Kichcha said, “When I saw the holy feet of Lord Vishnu, I felt an incredible sense of inner peace. I had heard that performing Pind Daan in Gaya helps the departed soul attain salvation, and that’s why I came here.” He was accompanied by his wife and nephew during the rituals.
Touched my heart: Kichcha
Speaking to the media, Sudeep shared that he is currently working on multiple film projects and that a major release is expected soon. Smiling, he said, “I don’t even remember when I last visited Bihar… but this is my first visit to Gaya. The sanctity and atmosphere of this place have truly touched my heart.” The arrival of this popular film star in Gaya not only became a topic of conversation among the locals but also beautifully reflected the confluence of religious faith and cinematic charm.
Kichcha on Bigg Boss Kannada controversy
The Kannada counterpart of the popular reality show was recently in news as the studio that hosts it came under the scanner of the Pollution Control Board. Kichcha, who hosts the show, took to his social media handle to speak on the matter while thanking Karnataka Dy CM DK Shivakumar for his timely intervention.
Responding to a post by Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on social media in which he had said he had directed the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru South District to lift the seal on Jollywood premises in Bidadi, where Bigg Boss Kannada was being filmed, Kichcha Sudeep wrote, “I sincerely thank Hon. DKShivakumar sir for the timely support. Also want to thank the concerned authorities for acknowledging that BBK was not involved or was a part of the recent chaos or disturbances. I truly appreciate the DCM for promptly responding to my call, and thank Nalpad, for his dedicated efforts. BBK12 is here to stay.”
The shoot for Bigg Boss Kannada has now been resumed after a brief interruption.
