Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel`s movie schedule not cancelled, makers clarify

Jr NTR is currently busy with the shoot of Prashanth Neel’s next, which is expected to be a big-scale project. However, rumours were rife that the film has hit a roadblock after a schedule was scrapped, as NTR and Neel were not satisfied with the actor’s look. Mythri Movie Makers took to X (formerly Twitter) to set the record straight. The production house denied the claims.

Mythri Movie Makers on cancelling NTR-Neel film’s schedule

Mythri Movie Makers, backing the ambitious film, have categorically denied these claims, stating that there was “absolutely no truth” to such reports. “There is absolutely no truth to the rumours circulating about the look or any schedule cancellation. The film is progressing as planned, with only a routine preparation gap. We request everyone not to believe or spread unverified information. Official updates will always come from us. #NTRNeel,” the post read.

A report in Gulte stated, “The movie was to shoot for a major schedule this month, but then it got halted. Apparently, there are multiple looks of the actor in the film, and this new schedule was to have a new look. But then, both NTR and Neel were not satisfied with the look they achieved, so they decided to pause the schedule.”

More about NTR-Neel film

The production, widely rumoured to be titled Dragon, completed its high-octane shoot in Jordan ahead of time, with the team capturing key action sequences before heading back to India. The team has been mounting a massive set on the outskirts of Hyderabad. In October, reports came in that Jr NTR had halted the shoot of the film since he was “not fully happy” with what had been shot so far.

The film was earlier scheduled to release on Sankranti. However, it will now release in June 2026. The much-anticipated actioner got bigger with Anil Kapoor joining the cast. According to Mid-Day, the senior B-town star will join the project as the main antagonist and is expected to lock horns with Tarak in the anticipated action movie. Kapoor indirectly confirmed his participation in the movie by sharing a poster of Dragon and writing, “One has landed, the rest two are lining up. #Dragon.”
