Karisma Kapoor shares memories of Raj Kapoor
Following the performance, host Aditya Narayan spoke about Raj Kapoor’s legendary stature and said, “Yeh song Raj ji ka hai. Hum unhe as a showman jaante hain, superstar jaante hain, lekin aapne unhe ek family member ke roop mein bhi dekha hain. Aap unhe dada ji ke roop mein jaanti hain kuch batayein na unke baare mein.”
Responding to this, Karisma Kapoor said, “I think jo unke insights the, jo unka value system tha, kala aur professionalism yeh sab humne unhi se seekha hai. Jab main chhoti thi, woh humein life ke baare mein, ek daughter ke roop mein, ek future mother ke roop mein aur ek actor ke roop mein bahut si baatein batate the. Woh sab mere liye bahut hi priceless hain. Definitely, he was not only the showman of cinema but also the showman of our family.”
She further added a sweet and interesting anecdote, “Abhi aam ka season aane wala hai, toh mujhe ek kahani yaad aati hai. Jab hum chhote the, mere dada ji ko aam bahut pasand the. Woh ek bahut hi simple insaan the duniya bhar travel karte the, lekin dil se bahut simple the. Unke paas ek chhota sa fridge hota tha jismein woh aam rakhte the. Hum grandchildren chup-chaap jaake woh aam kha jaate the aur unki foreign chocolates bhi le lete the. Agar koi aur unke bacche lete, toh unhe daant padti thi, lekin mujhe kabhi kuch nahi kehte the. Shayad isliye bhi kyunki meri aankhen unse milti thi.”
The episode beautifully captures the legacy of Raj Kapoor through music, memories, and personal stories, making it a truly emotional and nostalgic watch.
