A video of Ranveer Singh at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi has taken over social media on Thursday, suggesting that the actor offered prayers at the sacred shrine following the blockbuster success of his recent spy thriller Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge. The film has been witnessing unprecedented success at the box office ever since its release on March 19, collecting over Rs 1,000 crore in just seven days.

Amid the roaring success of Dhurandhar 2, a video of Ranveer visiting Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi is currently doing the rounds on social media. In the video, Ranveer can be seen entering the temple decked up in a white kurta‑pyjama and sunglasses, along with a religious scarf.

While making his way to the temple, he is seen greeting fans. A user shared the clip online with the caption, “Ranveer Singh Visited Kashi Vishwanath Mandir after Grand Success of Dhurandhar!” The clip soon went viral with many beliving that Ranveer visited the temple recently after Dhurandhar 2.

However, after doing a little digging, netizens discovered that the video is actually old. As the video went viral, a user on X asked the AI bot Grok, “Is this video recent?” The bot responded, “No, the video isn`t recent, it`s from April 14, 2024, when Ranveer Singh (with Kriti Sanon) visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi,” clearing the air.
For the unversed, Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon visited Varanasi`s Kashi Vishwanath Temple in April 2024 to seek blessings. They were in the city as a part of a fashion event, as they also walked the ramp for designer Manish Malhotra at Namo Ghat to promote local Banarasi handlooms later.
Interestingly, Ranveer Singh is very much in Mumbai if his recent sightings are to be considered. The Dhurandhar star reportedly visited the Benne restaurant in Chowpatty, Mumbai, along with his wife and actor Deepika Padukone. The restaurant shared a photo with the duo, along with Ranveer`s father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, surrounded by the staff of the restaurant.
Similarly, on Sunday afternoon, Ranveer and Deepika were spotted at a seafood restaurant in Mumbai, days after the release of Dhurandhar 2.
