Controversy forces makers to pull Nora Fatehi’s song from KD: The Devil

A song featuring Nora Fatehi has sparked controversy after facing heavy backlash online. The track, titled Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke, was removed from YouTube following criticism over its lyrics and choreography. The dance number appears in the upcoming film KD: The Devil and also features Sanjay Dutt.

Music video gets pulled down

The song had initially created buzz after its release, largely because of Nora Fatehi’s energetic performance and the vibrant visuals of the music video. However, the excitement soon turned into debate across social media platforms. Many viewers criticised the lyrics, describing them as vulgar and inappropriate, while others objected to the suggestive choreography shown in the video.

The music video is set in a dance-bar style environment where Nora performs elaborate routines alongside a group of backup dancers. While some fans praised her stage presence and impressive dance skills, several social media users expressed discomfort with the lyrics and visual presentation. Critics claimed that the song relied heavily on double meanings and provocative imagery.

Nora Fatehi`s song receives flak

As the criticism grew online, the controversy drew attention from several voices in the music industry. Singer Armaan Malik also reacted to the song, expressing disappointment with its lyrics and calling them a “new low” for commercial songwriting. His remarks added momentum to the ongoing discussion surrounding the track and its content.

Following the mounting backlash, the makers of the film decided to remove the video from YouTube. Reports suggest the move came after many viewers demanded that the song be taken down due to its allegedly explicit content. The decision reflects how online reactions can quickly influence promotional strategies in the digital age.

Despite the controversy, the track had already gained significant attention online and quickly went viral after its release. The debate surrounding the song has also sparked wider conversations about the boundaries of artistic expression in film music, the portrayal of dance numbers and the growing scrutiny faced by such content on social media.

KD: The Devil is a pan-India action film directed by Prem. The film stars Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty in key roles and is expected to release in theatres later in 2026.

While the removal of the song may temporarily calm the controversy, the episode highlights the powerful role audiences and online communities now play in shaping the conversation around entertainment content.
