Work on 35 LED advertisement hoardings at Carter Road Promenade has been halted after resident protests, but locals now allege that hoarding material has been dumped along the rocky shoreline beside the promenade. “The contractor has dumped the hoardings on the rocks and left,” said a resident who joined the protest.

“There was a lot of anger and disappointment among residents,” said Renuka Tahiliani, the founder member of the promenade. “We want to know who benefits from this advertising revenue, because it is not the community that uses this space.”
