Budget Session 2026: Assembly, Council pays tribute to the late Ajit Pawar

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday led tributes to the late Ajit Pawar in the Maharashtra Assembly, calling him “the best chief minister Maharashtra never had,” while moving the condolence motion in the House.

Speaking on the occasion, Fadnavis remembered his colleague as a leader known for strict discipline and punctuality. “Ajit Pawar always respected time and functioned with clockwork precision. But for the first time, missed the timing,” the chief minister said. Pawar passed away in a plane crash in Baramati on January 28.
