BTS J-Hope`s Birthday: Hobi donates over Rs 1 crore in children`s hospital

Marking his birthday with compassion rather than celebration, J-Hope of BTS once again demonstrated his commitment to giving back. The rapper, dancer and songwriter chose to celebrate his special day by donating a substantial sum to children’s welfare initiatives in South Korea, continuing a heartfelt tradition he has maintained for years.

J-hope makes an extravagant donation on his birthday

Born on February 18, 1994, the artist, whose real name is Jung Hoseok, donated a total of 300 million Korean won (approximately Rs 1.88 crore). His contribution was divided between medical support for young patients and educational assistance for students in need, reflecting causes that are personally meaningful to him.

A major portion of the donation, 200 million won (around Rs 1.25 crore), was directed to the children’s hospital at Seoul Asan Hospital. The funds are expected to enhance pediatric medical facilities, improve treatment environments, and support programs designed to aid children and adolescents battling illnesses. This is not the first time he has supported the institution; he has consistently made birthday donations to help young patients receive better care and opportunities for recovery.

In addition, 100 million won (approximately Rs 62 lakh) was contributed to ChildFund Korea, a prominent child welfare organisation. The funds will be used for scholarship programs benefiting students at his former schools, including Gwangju International High School and Jeonnam Girls’ Commercial High School. Through these scholarships, financially disadvantaged students will receive assistance to continue their education and pursue their ambitions.

His former donations and motivation

Explaining his motivation, J-Hope shared that philanthropy is his way of expressing gratitude to ARMY, the loyal global fanbase that has supported him throughout his career. He emphasized that the love and encouragement he receives inspire him to spread positivity and offer tangible help to those who need it most. By supporting children’s healthcare and education, he hopes to create opportunities for young people to build brighter futures.

With this latest contribution, J-Hope further strengthens his reputation not only as a global music icon but also as a dedicated philanthropist committed to meaningful social impact.
