After the controversy that blew up after Badshah released his Haryanvi song Tateeree, the rapper and singer has now teased the new version of his track, naming it Tateeree Phir Se. Since Tateeree faced massive backlash for its objectionable content, the rapper has now assured that they have made the necessary changes in the latest version.

In his latest social media post, Badshah penned a note saying that he respects the reactions of the audience and is also aware of his responsibility towards society as an artist. In his post, in Hindi, he wrote, “To the people of Haryana and all my friends connected across the world, In the past few weeks, regarding my song `Tateeree`, we have listened to the concerns of government officials, the women`s commission, social workers, and many others who care about our culture. Based on their feedback, we have made the necessary changes, and whatever part was considered objectionable has been removed. I respect the reactions and the sentiments behind them. As an artist, along with my work, my responsibility toward my society and culture is equally important.”
He added that music has always been a way for him to take his roots, his language, his people, and his stories to a larger platform. Expressing his gratitude to the audience, he shared, “Your support, your voice, and your belief are what have kept this song alive. I hope its new version will carry the same energy and the same respect. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this entire conversation. Such discussions make us better.”

The Haryanvi hip-hop track, Tateeree, featuring Simran Jaglan, was accused of misogyny, vulgarity, and the sexualisation of schoolgirls. Critics objected to lyrics like “Tateeree ke do-do bade-bade…” and the imagery of school uniforms in a classroom setting shown in the music video.
Multiple FIRs were registered against Badshah in Haryana under Section 296 of the Indian Penal Code (outraging public decency) as well as the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. Following the action, Haryana Police took aggressive action, removing over 857 online links associated with the song from social media.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) and Haryana State Women`s Commission even summoned Badshah, prompting him to appear before the NCW and submit a written apology. Earlier this week, Badshah apologised and pledged to support the education of 50 girls and promised to create a women`s empowerment song within four months.
