Since 2023, rumours suggested that Allu Arjun and Sandeep Reddy Vanga were teaming up for a project, to be produced by the filmmaker and T-Series. But in the past few weeks, things have gone quiet on that front. Following the announcement of Deepika Padukone joining Arjun’s next, directed by Atlee, sources say that the superstar’s project with Vanga has been shelved.
A Hyderabad-based trade insider tells mid-day, “The film was in discussion for long, but nothing was locked — neither the script nor the dates. With Deepika having come on board the Atlee film, the working title of which is AA22xA6, Allu has shifted his focus to it. His calendar is packed with this fantasy actioner, followed by another project.”
Vanga, currently deep into pre-production of Spirit, is said to be reworking his slate. “The filmmaker is also booked till 2027. After Spirit, he has Animal Park with Ranbir Kapoor,” adds the source.
The filmmaker, on several occasions, expressed his fondness for Arjun, even admitting that he had approached the actor before casting Vijay Deverakonda in Arjun Reddy (2017). But it looks like they won’t unite anytime soon. Another insider from a production house says, “It’s not as if Vanga has had a fallout with Allu, after his spat with Deepika. It’s just that the timing is not aligning.”
