Negha Shahin has strongly spoken out against the recently proposed transgender bill, expressing disappointment over what she describes as a lack of meaningful inclusion and sensitivity. Negha Shahin slams the transgender bill

In a candid statement, Negha did not hold back while sharing her concerns. She criticised the bill for failing to reflect the realities and needs of the transgender community. “This bill does not represent us,” she said, emphasising that policies affecting the community must be shaped with their direct involvement. She further added that decisions are often made without consulting those who are most impacted.

Calling attention to the film industry, Negha questioned why influential voices have not stepped forward. She pointed out that actors who have previously portrayed or supported transgender narratives on screen should also take a stand in real life. “When it comes to real issues, where are these voices?” she asked, highlighting what she sees as a disconnect between on-screen representation and real-world advocacy.

The actor also reflected on the broader challenges faced by transgender individuals, stating that visibility in cinema alone is not enough. According to her, meaningful change requires active support, awareness, and accountability from both policymakers and public figures.

Calls out actors for keeping silence

Negha’s remarks have sparked a wider conversation online, with many echoing her concerns about representation and inclusion. While some users supported her stance, others debated the expectations placed on celebrities to speak out on social issues.

Beyond criticism, Negha stressed the importance of dialogue and understanding. She urged for a more inclusive approach where members of the transgender community are actively involved in shaping laws and narratives that affect their lives. Her comments underline the need for empathy and responsibility, particularly from those in positions of influence.

As discussions around the bill continue, Negha Shahin’s voice has added urgency to the conversation, bringing attention to the gap between representation and real change. Her candid remarks serve as a reminder that for many, the fight for equality is ongoing and that silence from influential quarters can be just as impactful as action.
