Main Actor Nahi Hoon recovers budget

Mounted on a controlled budget of Rs 1.5 crore, the film has now almost recovered its entire production cost within just two days of release, marking an impressive milestone for the content-driven project.

For an independent film with a limited release strategy, these numbers reflect strong audience interest and positive word of mouth.

Released across 110+ theatres nationwide, Main Actor Nahi Hoon has steadily built momentum through audience appreciation for its grounded storytelling and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s impactful performance.

The film has particularly resonated with viewers, who are praising its raw treatment, unique concept and emotionally layered narrative.

Directed by Aditya Kripalani and produced by Faizuddin Siddiqui,  Main Actor Nahi Hoon entered cinemas without the scale of a conventional commercial release. Yet its box office performance is proving that compelling content and powerful performances can still drive theatrical traction.

The growth from Day 1 to Day 2 further strengthens the film’s momentum, positioning it as one of the standout success stories in the indie film space.

With its production budget nearly recovered within just 48 hours, Main Actor Nahi Hoon has made a strong statement at the box office while continuing to earn audience appreciation across the country.

Nawaz did not charge fees for film

The film’s director, Aditya Kripalani, described working with Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a dream come true, highlighting his professionalism and dedication despite not charging any fee. He also revealed the film was earlier titled Impulse before Nawazuddin came on board. Talking to Filmfare, Aditya shared, “He was an absolute professional. He even bought his own ticket to reach Frankfurt, all by himself. He didn’t come with his manager.” He further added, “Him not charging a fee is a big thing, really big. In India, there is always that pressure of ‘how much are you earning?’ When someone like Nawaz doesn’t charge money, you can actually turn around and say, `This is my earning.` It’s one of the high points of my career.”
