In April, mid-day reported that Salman Khan is set to headline a superhero film by filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, backed by Mythri Movie Makers (A retiring superhero? April 20).The project will mark his first on-screen outing as a superhero. We have now learnt that Kareena Kapoor Khan is in advanced talks to play the female lead. While she has apparently not signed the dotted line yet, sources say she has “responded to the script enthusiastically” and “expressed keen interest verbally”. Salman is believed to have personally reached out to her, accelerating the discussion. If confirmed, this will mark their fifth collaboration on screen.

Stranded in Dubai

Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000) fame Ameesha Patel was left stranded after her New York–Mumbai flight was diverted to Muscat following missile strikes in the UAE. Sharing updates on X, she wrote, “On my way back to Mumbai from New York on Emirates! As we were about to land in Dubai, the airspace closed in UAE due to fresh missile attacks! We have now been diverted to Muscat [and] are awaiting further updates! When will this war end? Praying.” Hours later, she took to social media again, and posted, “Been hours and hours at Dubai airport! And the wait continues. Can’t wait to get home to Mumbai,” adding, “24 hours, still counting.”
