Balenciaga unveiled `The Heartbeat`, the Spring Summer 26 collection and the debut of creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, at its boutique in Jio World Plaza.
The event offered guests a first look at the collection, focusing on craftsmanship, silhouette, and the relationship between the garment and the body. The approach reflects a refined direction for the house while staying rooted in its core values.
The collection reinterprets everyday wardrobe pieces including denim, knitwear, t-shirts, and accessories through proportion and cut. Silhouettes feel structured yet light, achieved through technique rather than heavy construction, allowing ease of movement.
Drawing from the legacy of Cristóbal Balenciaga, the collection brings a sense of architectural form into a modern wardrobe. Familiar elements are revisited in a way that feels relevant and wearable today.
Material development reflects the house’s approach, with knitwear translating archival fabrics through new materialities and the signature gazar reimagined. Embroideries of floral and feather elements, executed in self-fabric, become part of the construction rather than decoration.
The unveiling of the new collection saw the likes of Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra, Adarsh Gourav, Raja Kumari, Ritviz, Malavika Mohanan, Krithi Shetty and Orhan Awatramani, among others.
With `The Heartbeat`, Balenciaga aims to continue to evolve its design language through precision, craft, and a modern approach to dressing.
