Vijay visits Shirdi Sai Baba temple in Maharashtra ahead of election results

Actor-turned-politician Vijay seems to be on a series of spiritual pilgrimages ahead of the upcoming election results on May 4. He was seen visiting the sacred Shirdi Sai Baba shrine in Nashik, Maharashtra, on Wednesday. This comes a day after he visited the Tiruchendur Subramania Swamy Temple on Tuesday. Visuals showed him leaving from his Chennai residence, arriving at the airport, and later reaching Shirdi International Airport.

At the temple, Vijay offered prayers and prostrated before Sai Baba’s sanctum, spending moments in deep devotion. This comes after his earlier unannounced visit to the Tiruchendur Murugan temple near Madurai, where he also offered prayers.

At the temple on Tuesday, Vijay was seen deeply engaged in prayer, offering his respects before the sanctum of Sai Baba. In a widely circulated video, he is seen remaining bowed for nearly 10 seconds, reflecting his devotion. Later, he was seen receiving prasad from the temple priest in a peaceful and spiritual moment during his visit. The actor and politician looked calm as he walked through a crowded area with his security team closely guarding him.

Vijay`s Tamil Nadu election campaign and Jana Nayagan delay

The timing of these spiritual visits has added significance, since he is currently preparing for key political milestones. According to some reports, his pilgrimage tour is taking place ahead of the election results expected on Monday, May 4. Notably, he contested the election from two key constituencies, namely, Perambur and Tiruchi East, in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026. It marked his first major electoral outing as the chief of TVK.

On the work front, Vijay has been struggling with the release of his final film, Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth. The film also stars Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, and Narain. It has been awaiting clearance from the censor board since January, when it was scheduled to release on the occasion of Pongal. Meanwhile, there have been rumours that the film could finally release on theatres on May 8. Nevertheless, there has been no official confirmation on the same by the actor or the makers.
