Aashiqui fame Rahul Roy spotted carrying heavy luggage in Mumbai, watch

Actor Rahul Roy was a rage in the 1990s after the success of his film Aashiqui, helmed by Mahesh Bhatt. His journey later faced setbacks due to a serious health scare- a brain stroke in 2020- which required hospitalisation and recovery. The actor, who is now rarely seen in films, was recently spotted on the streets of Versova in Mumbai. He was seen carrying a suitcase that appeared heavy while walking on an uneven road. The visual has now gone viral on social media, eliciting mixed reactions from users.

Rahul Roy makes rare appearance

Though Rahul Roy now makes fewer public appearances and film outings, the actor occasionally grabs attention, such as with his recent viral performance at a wedding in Bihar. His latest sighting has sparked nostalgia among fans, with some reminiscing about his earlier stardom while others expressed surprise at his current appearance.

Rahul Roy`s last film appearance

Rahul Roy was last seen in the film Agra, which is currently streaming online. The film was released last year. Ahead of its release, he had penned a post where he spoke about shooting for the film before his brain stroke.

He wrote, “I shot Agra before my stroke, before I lost my speech. Six months of my life, I lived this film—method acting beyond comfort with every ounce of passion and truth I had.”

“Sometimes effort is unseen, when mood outweighs merit, but art remains eternal. Agra releases pan-India on November 14. It carries a part of my soul. See you in theatres,” he added.

Agra is a drama film co-written and directed by Kanu Behl. It features debutant Mohit Agarwal, Priyanka Bose, Ruhani Sharma, Vibha Chibber, Sonal Jha, and Aanchal Goswami in pivotal roles.

The film follows Guru, a young call centre employee who lives with his parents. Consumed by frustration, he spirals into a disturbing mental state, navigating fantasies, dating apps, and self-destructive behaviour.

In 2020, Rahul suffered a brain stroke while filming in Kargil. The stroke caused aphasia, affecting his speech, and he was hospitalised in Mumbai. Following the incident, he reportedly faced significant medical expenses, which were covered by Salman Khan.

Rahul began his acting career with the 1990 blockbuster Aashiqui, starring alongside Anu Aggarwal. He later appeared opposite Karisma Kapoor in Sapne Sajan Ke and delivered a notable performance in Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee. He also featured in Jaanam, directed by Vikram Bhatt. In 2006, he won the first season of the reality show Bigg Boss.
