​Maharashtra government announces key IAS transfers across departments 

The Maharashtra government on Wednesday issued a transfer order effecting a reshuffle of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across key departments, including tourism, higher and technical education, and local governance bodies.

Changes in Tourism and Education Departments

As part of the administrative rejig, Dr. B.N. Patil (IAS: Non-SCS: 2014), who was serving as Director of Tourism in Mumbai, has been appointed as Project Director of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) under the Higher and Technical Education Department in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Mangesh Joshi (IAS: SCS: 2015), previously posted as Deputy Director General at YASHADA in Pune, will take over as the new Director of Tourism in Mumbai.

Key Appointments in Municipal and Zilla Parishad Administration

In a significant move in local administration, Kuladeep Jangam (IAS: RR: 2020), who was serving as Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad in Solapur, has been appointed as Additional Municipal Commissioner of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

Replacing him in Solapur, Kushal Jain (IAS: RR: 2022), earlier posted as Project Officer, Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP), Aheri, and Assistant Collector of Aheri Sub Division in Gadchiroli, has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Solapur.

Additionally, Revaiah Dongre (IAS: RR: 2023), who was serving as Assistant Collector of Bhoom Sub Division in Dharashiv, has been transferred and appointed as Project Officer of ITDP, Pandharkawda. He will also serve as Assistant Collector of Kelapur Sub Division in Yavatmal.

Administrative Reshuffle Aims at Governance Efficiency

The transfers are part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to streamline administrative functioning and strengthen governance across departments and regions. The reshuffle is expected to bring renewed focus to developmental initiatives, particularly in education, tourism, and rural administration.

Earlier, the Maharashtra government ordered the transfer of 11 Indian Administrative Service officers in a fresh administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and improving departmental efficiency. The changes affect several key departments and institutions across the state, including Pune, Mumbai, Kalyan and Nashik.

Among the notable appointments, Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal has been posted as Member Secretary of the Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research in Pune. He was previously serving as Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Farming Corporation.

In a related move, Ruchesh Jaivanshi has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Farming Corporation, also based in Pune. These changes are expected to impact the functioning of agriculture-related institutions in the state.

Additionally, Minal Karanwal has been appointed Project Director of the Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivanee Project, a key initiative focused on climate-resilient agriculture.
