Rajinikanth refuses to react to delay in Vijay`s Jana Nayagan release

Film superstar Rajinikanth addressed the press during his airport appearance on Wednesday. The actor spoke about his film updates and also addressed the culture of young fans running behind their idols and hurting themselves in the process. The question came in the wake of the Karur stampede, where over 40 people reportedly died while attending a rally by actor-turned-politician Vijay.

Rajinikanth warns fans against hurting themselves

Rajinikanth was commenting particularly on the extreme risks taken by Vijay’s fans to get close to him during campaign events.

Speaking to reporters at the Chennai airport, Rajinikanth appealed to the youth, urging them to prioritise their education and physical health. Responding to a query about fans putting themselves in harm’s way to get near Vijay during political campaigns, Rajinikanth said they need to be “careful.”

Despite the tragic Karur incident, it remains common to see fans throwing themselves in front of the actor-politician’s vehicle during rallies, risking serious injury.

“Youth must be very careful. If they get hurt, the hardship is theirs alone. They must prioritise their safety,” Rajinikanth said.

He further emphasised the importance of the student phase, stating that education should be the primary focus during those years. “If you miss this time meant for studies, you will suffer greatly later in life. Your entire focus must be on your education,” he added.

The Jailer star also delivered a strong message against substance abuse, warning that addiction not only destroys individuals but also affects their families. “Do not become a slave to these habits. It will make your life and your family’s life hell. If you have friends who lead you toward such things, stay away from them,” he advised.

Rajinikanth refuses to comment on Jana Nayagan delay

When asked about the delay in Jana Nayagan due to CBFC issues, Rajinikanth declined to comment, saying, “I don’t want to answer that.”

On the professional front, the actor shared updates on his upcoming film Jailer 2, revealing that around 20 percent of the shoot is still pending. When asked about a potential collaboration with Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth said details regarding the project are with the directors and production teams.
