Pregnancy speculation surrounding Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal has persisted for quite some time. While the actress has dismissed the claims several times, her mother, Poonam Sinha, has reacted to the ongoing rumours, saying she has already been made a grandmother “many times” by speculation. Addressing the buzz, she expressed her love for daughters and added that the joy of becoming a nani will come at the right time.
Poonam Sinha on Sonakshi’s pregnancy rumours
During an interaction with Instant Bollywood at an event, Poonam recalled the moment Sonakshi was born. She said, “Woh moment toh sabse accha moment tha humari life ka jab humare ghar mein betiya aayi. Mujhe lagta hai zindagi betiya ke bagair kuch hai hi nahi. Betiya ka hona bahut zaruri hai (That was the most beautiful moment of our lives when daughters came into our home. I feel life is nothing without daughters. Having daughters is very important).”
Poonam then reacted to Sonakshi’s pregnancy rumours and said, “Pata nahi kitni baar nani bana diya humko. Lekin chalo, woh khushi bhi humko milegi, zaroor milegi woh khushi (I don’t know how many times they’ve already made me a grandmother. But that happiness will come to us too, and it definitely will).”
When Sonakshi reacted to pregnancy rumours
The Heeramandi actress has been in the news ever since she got married. She once clarified that she had gained weight after marriage, due to which people were speculating that she was pregnant. She again dismissed the rumours, stating she will announce her pregnancy herself when it happens.
Recently, during a playful appearance at a Diwali party, Zaheer’s gesture convinced fans that the actress was pregnant. She gave a befitting reply that read, “World record holder for longest pregnancy in human history (16 months and counting, according to our lovely and hyper-intelligent media), simply for posing with a hand around midsection.”

For those who do not know, Sonakshi and Zaheer tied the knot on June 23, 2024, in a civil wedding after being in a relationship for seven years. The registered wedding at their home was attended by family members and close friends.
On the work front, Sonakshi was last seen in Jatadhara, co-starring Sudheer Babu. The film released in both Hindi and Telugu on November 7, 2025.
