Rahul Arunoday Banerjee death: Wife issues statement; last video goes viral 

Bengali actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee died in a tragic incident after drowning at Talsari beach in Odisha on Sunday. The 43-year-old actor was filming for his Star Jalsha series Bholebaba Paar Karega when the incident occurred. While some reports claim that Rahul, who did not know how to swim, stepped away from the set to go to the beach, others say that he fell from a boat into the sea. His wife, Priyanka Sarkar, has now issued an official statement after his death.

Taking to her Instagram account, Priyanka wrote, “This is a time of immense grief and deep despair for us. In this difficult moment, we sincerely request space and privacy. There is a child, a mother, a family, and loved ones trying to navigate this loss together. We kindly urge our friends and colleagues in the media to respect our boundaries, refrain from intrusion, and allow us the dignity to grieve in peace.”

She concluded by saying, “Your understanding and support mean more than ever at this time.”

Priyanka and Rahul met on the sets of the Bengali series Chirodini Tumi Je Amar and tied the knot. Rahul is survived by his wife and a son.

Rahul Arunoday Banerjee`s last video before death

Meanwhile, a video of Rahul shooting for the series Bholebaba Paar Karega with a female co-star has surfaced. Several believe it to be the actor`s last video before he died by drowning in the sea. In the video, the actor is seen preparing for a shot while standing near a car. The crew and interested onlookers surrounded the actor. At one point, his co-star is seen requesting the audience to be quiet.

The Bholebaba Paar Karega crew members were the ones who later spotted Rahul in the water and rushed him to Digha Hospital, where he was declared dead. They reportedly reached by 6 pm, and were informed that he was dead before he could receive any medical attention. The East Midnapore district police confirmed the news. The Additional Superintendent of Police, Atish Biswas, further verified that the actor had died of drowning. A detailed medical report is awaited after the post-mortem, which will be done on March 30.
