The Gorai Mangrove Park, developed by the Mangrove Cell of the Maharashtra forest department, is likely to open to the public in April. The project has been ready for several months, but its inauguration was delayed due to administrative reasons. Once opened, visitors will be able to walk along an elevated boardwalk through the mangrove ecosystem and learn more about coastal biodiversity.

On March 9, mid-day reported on its digital platform that Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray wrote to Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik, urging him to inaugurate the Gorai mangrove park for the public at the earliest. During a recent visit by mid-day to the site, all work appeared complete, including finishing touches, installation of CCTV cameras, and the setup of a souvenir shop.
“The work on the Mangrove Park at Gorai has been completed, and it will be opened to the public in April,” an official from the Mangrove Cell said. The park has been developed to promote awareness about mangrove biodiversity and conservation.
