Vijay-Rashmika wedding: Couple get a traditional welcome at latter`s village 

Days after tying the knot in Udaipur, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda were seen arriving at the latter`s hometown, Thummanpet in Mahbubnagar, Telangana. The newlyweds were greeted with a grand yet traditional welcome at his village. Videos from their visit have gone viral on social media where elders in the village were seen performing rituals before welcoming the couple to their newly built home.

In the videos, Vijay was seen wearing a pastel green kurta, while Rashmika Mandanna donned a beautiful dark blue traditional silk saree with copper zari work. Villagers gathered outside their new home to catch a glimpse of them and wish them on their new beginning. 

One of the videos shows the grand preparations underway for the couple at the village. Their cut-outs were put up outside their house. Meanwhile, dancers and performers welcomed the couple. The couple was accompanied by siblings, along with the rest of the family members. A traditional harati was also reportedly performed, and an elderly woman took their dishti (nazar) as they entered the new home.

Meanwhile, their new home in the Mahbubnagar district (present-day Nagarkurnool) was also lit up, while tents were set up outside to accommodate the guests.

Another video on social media also shows the arrangements made for the couple`s arrival at their new home. Rashmika and Vijay also reportedly performed the Satyanarayana Vratam at their new home, a traditional puja performed by newly married couples to thank God for the successful completion of the wedding festivities and to begin a new chapter in their lives with blessings.

Rashmika and Vijay tied the knot in Udaipur on February 26 in the presence of their closest friends and loved ones. The couple confirmed their wedding a couple of days before calling it the Virosh wedding. After tying the knot, the couple flew back to Hyderabad and announced that they had arranged annadanam (food donations) and the distribution of sweets in various cities to mark their marriage.

The couple is set to host their reception in Hyderabad on March 4 on an invite-only basis. Notably, the reception was originally planned as an exclusive gathering for members of the Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film fraternity across, along with distinguished leaders from political and administrative circles. However, as per the advice of the police, the guest list has been restricted.
