Rashmika-Vijay announce nationwide annadanam to celebrate their wedding

Actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have announced their wedding through a gesture of gratitude unlike anything seen before in the Indian film industry. While celebrity weddings are often defined by exclusivity and private festivities, the duo- affectionately dubbed ViRosh by fans- has chosen to celebrate their union by feeding the nation. Moving beyond the traditional “glamour wedding,” the couple is sharing their joy with the very people who have empowered their journeys.

Rashmika and Vijay announce nationwide sweet distribution

Days after their Udaipur destination wedding, the couple announced a nationwide sweet distribution and annadanam programme to celebrate their happiness with the public. In a heartfelt joint statement posted on social media, they wrote, “To the beautiful people of this country, you have always been a part of our journeys and our love. It would make us truly happy to celebrate our wedding with all of you. And how does India celebrate everything? With mithai and food. So on March 1, we are sending trucks filled with love and sweets across the country to share this big moment in our lives with all of you. We will also be doing annadanam in multiple temples across the country. Seeking all your blessings.”

When and how will it happen?

This unprecedented nationwide initiative involves a massive logistical operation scheduled for March 1. The celebrations include the distribution of sweets through dedicated trucks travelling to major hubs including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad.

The annadanam (sacred food offering) will feature organised feasts at 16 iconic temples across Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and more, including the Shivoham Shiva Temple and the Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir.

By prioritising community service and annadanam, Rashmika and Vijay have transformed their personal milestone into a nationwide celebration of giving. The gesture is being seen as one of the rare instances of a contemporary star couple marking their marriage with charitable outreach on such a scale, underscoring that their greatest blessing is the love of their audience.

The star couple tied the knot on February 26 after years of courtship. They first met while shooting for their 2018 film Geetha Govindam and in the following year they were seen together in Dear Comrade
