BTS Jungkook`s drunk livestream sparks debate, reveals getting death threats

Global concern has mounted among fans after Jungkook, a member of BTS, appeared to reference death threats during a late-night livestream that was later deleted.

The broadcast, which took place in the early hours of February 26 on his fan communication platform, quickly went viral after clips began circulating on social media. In the live session, Jungkook spoke candidly about living under constant public scrutiny, addressing personal habits, pressure, and the realities of being a global idol. While much of the conversation was informal and reflective, one particular remark stood out and has since sparked widespread debate.

Jungkook talks about death threats

In translated excerpts shared online, Jungkook said, “Honestly, there must be a lot of people who don’t support me and don’t like me and want to belittle me… and people who want to kill me. There must be a lot of people who hate me. But so what? I don’t care.” The statement immediately alarmed fans, many of whom interpreted it as an acknowledgment of serious online hostility and possible threats directed toward him.

Although the full context remains unclear due to the deletion of the livestream, supporters have expressed deep concern over the emotional weight behind his words. Several fans noted that while parts of the internet focused on lighter aspects of the broadcast, including his casual tone and candid admissions, the more troubling mention of harm and hate seemed to be overshadowed.

Fans express concern

Social media platforms have since been flooded with messages of support. Fans have urged greater protection for artists and called for stricter action against online harassment. Many described feeling “heartbroken” and “speechless,” emphasising that no performer should have to address threats to their safety in such a public manner.

As of now, neither Jungkook nor his agency, HYBE, has issued an official statement specifically addressing the alleged threats. However, discussions around celebrity security and digital toxicity have intensified in fan communities worldwide.

The situation unfolds at a significant time for BTS, with the group preparing for upcoming global activities. As one of the most recognisable faces in K-pop, Jungkook’s words have once again highlighted the pressures that accompany immense fame, and the darker side of life in the public eye.
