​Maharashtra govt to form task force to combat digital addiction among children 

Concerned over the growing digital addiction among children and its impact on their mental and physical health, the Maharashtra government has decided to appoint a special task force of experts to study the issue and recommend solutions. 

MLC Niranjan Davkhare and others raised concerns about children getting addicted to mobile games and apps. State Information Technology Minister Ashish Shelar said the government has already directed the department to set up an expert panel to find a solution to this problem among minors.

The task force

The expert task force will include educationists, psychiatrists, child counsellors, doctors, technology specialists, legal experts, and officials from government departments. The panel will study several aspects, such as child safety online, mental health impact, and responsible digital usage
