Tamannaah Bhatia’s Ragini MMS 3 stalled after director exits project: Report

Tamannaah Bhatia was reportedly locked in to headline Ektaa Kapoor’s Ragini MMS 3 in 2025. While the update excited her fans, reports suggest that we might have to wait a little longer for the franchise. As per reports, director Sahir Raza has been removed from the project due to scheduling conflicts, causing the film to hit a roadblock.

Tamannaah Bhatia’s Ragini MMS 3 stalled

According to Variety India, the much-anticipated third instalment of Ragini MMS has been indefinitely put on hold. Filmmaker Sahir Raza, who was supposed to direct the film, has been removed from the project. The reason behind his abrupt exit is said to be a scheduling clash.

Sources say, “Raza is currently serving as showrunner on a Netflix series. A recent mandate from the streaming platform requires the showrunner’s daily presence on set. This requirement has created a scheduling overlap with Ragini MMS 3, forcing the team to part ways with the director.”

The source added, “This development has left Ekta Kapoor’s film temporarily stranded, with no clarity on its production timeline. Although they are actively looking for a replacement director, the film doesn’t seem to be starting anytime soon, marking a significant hurdle for the franchise.”

For those unaware, the Ragini MMS franchise began in 2011 with a found-footage horror film starring Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motivala in lead roles. In 2014, the sequel starred Sunny Leone.

Tamannaah Bhatia’s upcoming movies

Tamannaah Bhatia is next set to appear in a key role in the Shahid Kapoor-starrer O’ Romeo. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the action thriller is slated for release on February 13, 2026. Looking ahead, the actress will also be seen in V. Shantaram, co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi. She will play Jayashree, the legendary actress and second wife of the iconic filmmaker.

Apart from this, Tamannaah is also a part of Vvan, co-starring Sidharth Malhotra. Set against central India’s forest backdrop, the film dives deep into folklore rooted in Hindu mythology and is scheduled to release this year. Tamannaah Bhatia is also set to star opposite John Abraham in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming biographical action film, portraying Preeti Maria, wife of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria.

Additionally, Tamannaah will play the co-lead in the upcoming Tamil film Purushan, which stars Vishal.
