Pranay Pachauri expresses gratitude to Anurag and Tani Basu for being supportive

Pranay Pachauri has been climbing the ladder to good projects swiftly. The actor recently played an interesting character of Aryan in Metro In Dino. In an exclusive chat with Mid-day, the actor recalled how he shot one of the most important scenes in the film with a swollen face due to a severe allergy. He even expressed gratitude to Anurag Basu and Tani Basu for being extremely supportive and boosting him to do his best in the film.

Pranay recalls what had happened

It was just before one of the most important shots of my character in that arc. It was the most important scene, but right before shooting it, a day prior, I was unaware that I was allergic to moringa. And we were shooting in Kolkata. I was having my lunch normally, and then my body started reacting weirdly, and I called Tani ma`am, Anurag Basu`s wife. She came rushing to take me to the hospital. I was immediately treated with the medication, but my face and everything was swollen up. The problem was that yes, all of them were concerned, and I was feeling bad that such opportunities come rarely and there is such a big scene.

How Anurag Basu helped him overcome the setback

I started feeling a huge setback. I visited the hospital for two hours, and the next day we had to shoot the scene, and the swelling was still there. We couldn`t help but shoot. So I was just shooting the scene with a heavy heart. I was scared, wondering what would happen. But both Tani ma`am and Anurag sir were supportive, and they did everything to uplift my spirit and lighten the situation. They took funny pictures of me, and it was really nice of them to support their actor at such a time. It helped me to overcome the heavy phase and continue. Now that we recall that moment, we sit and laugh about it, but at that time when it was happening, it was heartbreaking for me. They helped me keep calm in that situation and encouraged me to do the scene. And surprisingly, that scene has been garnering a lot of love.
