Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Pooja Bhatt has been vocal about her turbulent life. From troubled love life, failed films, to her bond with Soni Razdan and siblings, she has bared it all. In a recent interview, Pooja opened up about her relationship with Bobby Deol and shared how it was a magical time of her life. While she didn’t reveal the reason behind their breakup, she shared how she is happy for his performance in Animal.
Pooja Bhatt on relationship with Bobby Deol
In a chat with Vickey Lalwani, Pooja was asked why she rejected Aashiqui. To this, she shared that her then boyfriend was not happy with her film career. When asked if that boyfriend was Bobby Deol, Pooja said that she “met Bobby much later in my life.” When asked if they were in love with each other, she admitted, “Of course. What’s not to fall in love with?”
Recalling their time together, she shared, “It was a magical time of my life, and he was a magical human being to be with.” Refusing to divulge any details about what led to their parting ways, Pooja said, “I don’t think it is in good taste to sit down today and talk about why my relationship with him ended or was… It was. We never denied it. He is a married man today, father of grown-up children, has a wonderful new surge in his career. I loved him in Animal. For me, he made the film. I’m so happy for him.”
She added, “I am not going to trivialise that equation. The time I have spent with somebody… By getting into the why it didn’t work or… It worked till it didn’t work. That’s it. Dignity and grace for the present, for not only your own life but for the people who have been in your life, and the people who they have in their life, is a very important thing to maintain.”
Talking about Bobby Deol, he is now married to Tanya Deol and they have two sons, Aryaman and Dharam Deol. Interestingly, Bobby will now share screen space with her sister Alia Bhatt in YRF spy universe film Alpha.
Pooja Bhatt’s love life
Pooja Bhatt’s affairs have always garnered a lot of attention. Be it with Bobby Deol, Fardeen Khan or Ranvir Shorey, she has a list of flings. In 1995, she was in a serious relationship with actor-filmmaker Sohail Khan, and the two had openly discussed marriage plans before eventually parting ways.
After this, she was linked with Ranvir Shorey. However, their romance was also short-lived. Pooja later found love in VJ and Mumbai-based restaurateur Manish Makhija. After tying the knot in 2003, they parted ways in 2014.
