Dhurandhar has undoubtedly raised the bar in terms of filmmaking and box office numbers for Bollywood films. Amid the roaring success of the film, the production designer who created the spectacular sets for the spy thriller, Saini S Johray, has reportedly been accused of raping a woman.
Saini S Johray arrested for rape
According to reports, a rape case has been filed against The Family Man and Dhurandhar`s production designer, Saini S Johray, in Chandigarh after a young woman accused him of sexual assault, wrongful confinement, and physical abuse.
The complainant alleged that Johray invited her to a five-star hotel under the pretext of a professional meeting, as per reports. It was at this five-star hotel where the alleged rape took place. Following her complaint, an FIR was registered on April 21, 2026. Police arrested Johray after the complaint was registered. However, after the arrest, he was later granted bail by a district court.

Saini S. Johray is an Art Director and Production Designer based out of Mumbai. He is reportedly known for his nuanced and detailed approach to visual storytelling. Saini has completed his graduation from the College of Art, New Delhi. Later, he did his Master`s in Art Direction and Production Design from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.
Saini is known in the industry for bringing a blend of fine arts and cinematic precision to his sets. His diverse body of work includes acclaimed films and web series such as Emmy-nominated series The Night Manager, The Family Man, Inside Edge, 24, and Tooth Pari. His production design portfolio also includes working on films like Azaad, Baadshaho, Nautanki Saala, and Dhurandhar. Besides, he has also worked on several ad films for notable brands in the country.
He was highly praised for his work on Dhurandhar, especially for creating the set-up of Pakistan`s Lyari in Bangkok. Saini even received awards for his work in the Aditya Dhar-directorial starring Ranveer Singh. Talking about the same, he had earlier told The Hollywood Reporter India, “It took me almost three months to design this film in terms of breakdown. March-May we spent designing, June was for recce and July we started shooting. I had 15 designers in the beginning on my team for the project. We would work 12 hours a day because it`s a very vast film. I think in my career, it`s one of those films that has the maximum number of locations.”
