FYJC admission chaos continues with portal glitches and repeated login failures

The First Year Junior College (FYJC) admission portal continued to face technical glitches for the second consecutive day, forcing authorities to extend the Std XI preference-filling window till May 25. Officials said heavy traffic on the website led to the disruption.

Heavy rush

Nearly 10 lakh students have registered for the online admission process this year. The first admission round requires students to fill in their college preferences before the merit list is announced. The window had originally opened on May 21 and was scheduled to close on May 22. However, after widespread complaints on Thursday, the deadline was first extended by a day.

Fresh errors

Parents and students again reported problems on Friday, including login failures, captcha issues, broken links and repeated redirects to the starting page while filling forms. Many said they were unable to complete the process despite multiple attempts.

Official Speak

Mahesh Palkar, director of education
‘We are making continued efforts to resolve the issues faced, we will add another day to the preference-filling window. We saw a lot of traffic coming in on the college lists displayed on the site, and now all of them have been uploaded in the PDF forms to ease the load’
