​Mumbai weather update: Warm, humid conditions persist at 34 degrees Celsius 

Mumbai is expected to witness hot and humid weather with partly cloudy sky in the city and suburbs on Monday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The weather department has forecast maximum and minimum temperatures to hover around 34 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Mumbai records satisfactory air quality

According to the Central Pollution Control Board’s Sameer App, Mumbai recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 52 on Monday, falling in the ‘Satisfactory’ category. Officials said this air quality level may cause minor breathing discomfort to sensitive groups.

AQI levels across Mumbai

Among various locations in Mumbai, Bandra Kurla Complex recorded the highest AQI at 190, while Powai registered one of the lowest AQI levels at 21.

Borivali East recorded an AQI of 45, Andheri East 37, Colaba 54, Deonar 88, Ghatkopar 54, Bhandup West 39, Malad West 32, Sewri 24, Worli 35 and Vile Parle 52.

Air quality in MMR region

In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Thane recorded an AQI of 68, while Navi Mumbai registered 61. Kalyan recorded an AQI of 100, placing it at the higher end of the moderate category.

Maharashtra weather update: Parbhani records season high at 45.2 degrees Celsius

Several parts of Maharashtra continued to experience hot weather conditions on Monday morning, with temperatures crossing the 40-degree Celsius mark in multiple districts, according to the IMD`s latest weather report issued at 8:30 am IST.

Parbhani records highest temperature in state

Parbhani recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 45.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Sholapur at 44 degrees Celsius and Jalgaon at 43.9 degrees Celsius. 

Aurangabad also witnessed severe heat, recording 42.4 degrees Celsius, while Jeur and Sangli registered 42 degrees Celsius each.

Osmanabad recorded a maximum temperature of 41.9 degrees Celsius, while Udgir registered 41.4 degrees Celsius. Satara touched 40.2 degrees Celsius during the period.

Western Maharashtra continues to witness hot conditions

In western Maharashtra, Kolhapur recorded 38.5 degrees Celsius, while Mahabaleshwar remained relatively cooler at 32.3 degrees Celsius. Nashik recorded a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius.

Warm and humid weather persists in Mumbai

Mumbai continued to witness warm and humid weather conditions. The Colaba observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius, while Santacruz registered 34.3 degrees Celsius. 

Coastal districts also remained comparatively cooler, with Ratnagiri recording 33.9 degrees Celsius, Harnai 34 degrees Celsius and Dahanu 35.3 degrees Celsius.

Several districts record above-normal temperatures

The weather data also showed above-normal temperatures in several districts. Sangli recorded the highest departure from normal temperatures at 5 degrees Celsius above normal, followed by Sholapur at 3.6 degrees Celsius and Kolhapur at 3.3 degrees Celsius.

Humidity levels remain high along Konkan coast

Humidity levels remained high in coastal areas, with Mumbai-Colaba recording evening relative humidity of 74 per cent and Santacruz recording 72 per cent. 

Ratnagiri and Harnai also witnessed humidity levels above 65 per cent, indicating continued humid conditions along the Konkan coast.
