​Mumbai airport to temporarily halt ops on Nov 20 for maintenance 

Both runways at Mumbai airport will be temporarily shut on November 20, 2025 for annual post-monsoon maintenance works, an official statement said on Monday.

Mumbai airport`s both runways will be closed from 11 to 5 pm on November 20, it said.

Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), which operates Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), said that the maintenance is part of a routine programme to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient airside operations. Airlines and other stakeholders were informed well in advance to adjust flight schedules and staffing.

The maintenance work will include inspections, surface repairs, and checks of runway lighting, markings, and drainage systems.

MIAL stated that the annual exercise is key to maintaining the highest safety standards at one of the world’s busiest single-runway airports.

The airport assured passengers that this planned closure has been carefully coordinated to minimise inconvenience.
