The gradual decrease in the active cases in Maharashtra has surely made the COVID-19 outbreak situation across the state quite calm and easy. As per the data released by the State Health Department on Friday, Maharashtra recorded 10 new cases of COVID-19. However, the good thing about the virus outbreak is that there has been no fatality record in the last few days.
The official release by the Public Health Department also confirms that most patients are exhibiting only mild symptoms. While urging people not to panic, the release also informed that all the active cases are currently facing mild symptoms. The testing and treatment facilities remain fully operational across the state.
The release shared by the Public Health Department highlighted that since January 2025, a total of 32,335 COVID-19 tests have been conducted, resulting in 2,557 confirmed positive cases. The good thing about the scenario is that 2,449 patients have recovered from the virus. The current recovery rate of patients in Maharashtra stands at 95.77%.
As of July 4, 2025, out of the 10 new cases that were reported across the state, 3 are from Mumbai, 1 each in Kalyan, Meera Bhayandar, Nagpur, and Chandrapur, and 3 in Pune Municipal Corporation areas. With the addition of 10 new COVID-19 cases, the total number of active cases as of today currently stands at 68.
Talking about the COVID-19 outbreak in the island city, Mumbai alone has recorded 1,005 COVID-19 cases since January, with the sharpest rise seen in May (435 cases) and June (551 cases). However, cases appear to be subsiding, with only a few reported so far in July.
Health officials, while not taking the situation lightly, have assured that all active cases are mild and are being monitored and treated as per protocol.
The Public Health Department also highlighted that since January, the state has reported 40 COVID-related deaths, of which 39 patients had underlying comorbidities and 1 had another serious illness.
Moreover, the authorities, including the hospital administrations, continue to monitor the situation closely and urge the public to remain cautious, follow hygiene practices, and report symptoms early.
