`I had no intention of taking sides`: BTS V reacts to court use of private texts

V has spoken out after his private chat messages were reportedly submitted as evidence in the ongoing legal dispute between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. The development sparked widespread discussion, prompting the BTS member to clarify his stance publicly.

V makes a clarification

Taking to social media, V expressed shock over the use of his personal messages in court. He stated, “This was part of a private, everyday conversation I shared out of empathy because she was an acquaintance of mine.” Emphasising his neutrality in the corporate conflict, he added, “I had absolutely no intention of taking either side.”

The singer further revealed his discomfort at discovering that the chats had been submitted without his knowledge. “I was very taken aback that this conversation was submitted as evidence without my consent,” he said, underscoring concerns about privacy and personal boundaries.

The lawsuit between HYBE and Min Hee-jin centres on a dispute involving management rights and shareholder agreements connected to ADOR. During court proceedings, KakaoTalk messages exchanged between V and Min were reportedly presented to support arguments related to creative similarities between certain idol groups. However, V clarified that his remarks were made in a casual context and were not intended to serve as a legal endorsement of any claim.

All about the case

Sources close to the matter indicated that V’s comments in the chats were conversational and empathetic rather than strategic. By addressing the issue directly, the BTS star made it clear that he does not wish to be drawn into the corporate battle.

Fans have since rallied behind him, voicing concerns about the use of private communications in legal disputes. Many stressed that artists should not have their personal conversations exposed without permission.

V’s statement reinforces his desire to remain neutral while highlighting the broader issue of consent and confidentiality. His response has added a new dimension to the ongoing legal clash, shifting part of the public focus toward privacy rights and the ethical handling of private exchanges in high profile cases.

BTS is all set to reunite after their military tenure, making a grand comeback with ARIRANG. The band is set to have a world tour for fans.
