​CR to operate mega block on its suburban section on Dec 28, check details 

The Central Railway, while sharing Mumbai local train updates, on Friday said that it will operate a mega block on its suburban railway sections on Sunday, December 28, 2025, to carry out engineering and maintenance work, officials said.

The block will affect services on the Main Line and the Harbour Line, and passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

On the Main Line, the up and down fast lines between Matunga and Mulund will remain under block from 11.05 am to 3.45 pm, officials said.

Impact on down fast trains

According to an official statement, the down fast trains leaving CSMT Mumbai between 10.36 am and 3.10 pm will be diverted to the down slow line at Matunga.

These trains will halt at all scheduled stations between Matunga and Mulund.

Trains will reach their destinations around 15 minutes late.

Fast trains heading beyond Thane will be shifted back to the fast line at Mulund.

Impact on up fast trains

The up fast trains leaving Thane between 11.03 am and 3.38 pm will be diverted to the up slow line at Mulund.

They will halt at all scheduled stations between Mulund and Matunga.

Trains will be re-diverted to the fast line at Matunga and will arrive about 15 minutes late.

Harbour Line block details

On the Harbour Line, services will be affected as follows:

– CSMT to Chunabhatti/Bandra (Down): 11.40 am to 4.40 pm

– Chunabhatti/Bandra to CSMT (up): 11.10 am to 4.10 pm

Suspended Harbour Line services

Down services to Vashi, Belapur and Panvel leaving CSMT between 11.16 am and 4.47 pm will remain suspended.

Down services to Bandra and Goregaon leaving CSMT between 10.48 am and 4.43 pm will remain suspended.

up services towards CSMT from Panvel, Belapur and Vashi between 9.53 am and 3.20 pm will remain suspended.

up services towards CSMT from Goregaon and Bandra between 10.45 am and 5.13 pm will also remain suspended.

Special train services

To reduce inconvenience, special local trains will run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No. 8) at a 20-minute frequency during the block period.

Harbour Line passengers will be allowed to travel via the Main Line and Western Railway between 10 am and 6 pm during the block period.

Railway appeals to passengers

Railway authorities said these mega blocks are essential for infrastructure maintenance and passenger safety. Commuters have been requested to cooperate and bear with the inconvenience caused due to the temporary disruption, the official statement said.
